Born and raised in the coastal town of Callao, minutes away from the capital Lima, Chef Abel Ortiz is no stranger to traditional flavours and proudly champions his home cuisine. Having trained at Peru’s leading culinary school and worked at two of Latin America’s greatest restaurants Central Restaurante and Mayta, Abel established his roots in Hong Kong in 2014. After 4 years of working in fine dining Latin establishments, Abel realised his dream of opening his own restaurant ChullsChick where he could serve the vibrant native cuisine of Peru in a colourful and comfortable environment.

Ingredients are sourced directly from suppliers in Peru to deliver authentic flavours that cannot be found elsewhere in Hong Kong. Chef-Founder Abel Ortiz brings classic recipes from his hometown, as well as years of experience working in Peru’s top restaurants and training in the region’s leading culinary institution, ensuring consistently outstanding experiences for patrons of the restaurant.
