A culinary tribute to the rich tapestry of cuisine of Kayastha kitchens. A cuisine shaped by Mughal, Colonial, and Indian regional influences, across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bengal, Hyderabad, and beyond.

Chef Devyani Bhatnagar presents a celebration of a storied culinary heritage; elegant, slow-cooked dishes laced with childhood memories, and secret family recipes.

With storytelling by Shan Bhatnagar, eminent Pichwai artist, designer, hotelier and historian.

Devyani Bhatnagar hosts bespoke dining experiences and cooking masterclasses at her residence, the celebrated Artists Mansion in Jaipur, is founder of the Rajasthani cloud kitchen My Kitchen Fables and co-creator of Laalee, a luxury boutique hotel in Jaipur that’s described by Conde Nast as “a marriage between art, culinary experiments and a love for the divine” .  

Once the preserve of scribes, courtiers, and cultured homes spread across Delhi, Awadh, Bengal, and beyond, the Kayastha culinary tradition blends intricate meat and vegetarian dishes, sophisticated layering of spices , and slow-cooked techniques like dum, bhuna, and dhungar.

Eminent Pichwai artist, designer, historian, and master storyteller Shan Bhatnagar will share captivating tales of the cuisine and its rich culinary heritage.

A Relish Platter of homemade chutneys and pickles from Rajasthan and UP.

A unique ‘ Sookhi’ Dal, a Kayastha specialty.
